Mortgage Calculator
Estimate principal-and-interest mortgage payments.
What does a mortgage calculator estimate?
A mortgage calculator estimates the principal-and-interest payment on a home loan using the loan amount, annual interest rate and repayment term. The loan amount is the home price minus the down payment.
What is not included?
The estimate does not automatically include property taxes, homeowners insurance, HOA fees, mortgage insurance, closing costs or changes in an adjustable rate. Actual mortgage costs can therefore be higher than the displayed principal-and-interest payment.
How to use it
Enter the purchase price, down payment, interest rate and term. Compare scenarios by changing one input at a time—for example, a larger down payment or a shorter term.
Mortgage calculator FAQ
Does a larger down payment reduce the payment?Generally, yes, because a larger down payment reduces the amount borrowed.
Is the result a mortgage quote? No. It is an estimate for planning purposes, not a lender quote.
